Which Part Of the Brain Are You Writing For?

– 4 min read

Neuroscientific explanation of why people read your articles

All readers are human beings with two brain hemispheres.

The left and the right.

Don’t confuse them with political affiliation because you would be vastly mistaken.

The left hemisphere is a machine

This part of the brain is the map of your world and it deals with certainty. It’s fuelled by dopamine and is responsible for manipulating(machiavellian) others to fit into their map of beliefs.

It motivates you to go eat, pee, find someone to have sex with or defend yourself with aggression. It is also responsible for making you book that vacation in the hot sun. Most importantly, it does not deal with thinking it is wrong. The left hemisphere is only right.

It does not question itself and it drives all the “isms”.

  • Feminism

  • Narcissism

  • Psychopathy

  • Machiavellian's

  • Sadism

  • Bipolar disorder

  • Histrionic disorder

  • Avoidant disorder

  • Grandiosity

  • Manic(high on happiness)

  • Overeating

It only applies its old truths to all new things. Just like a cult is doing or someone that doesn't want to change.

It should also be mentioned that it contains “cognitive empathy” which is the calculating part of empathy but not the true empathy.

That is why psychopaths can identify emotions in others and pray on them.

How to write to connect to the left hemisphere

When you write an article you are addressing the left side without a doubt because it is always turned on.

That is why the first rule of thumb is to choose a side of a topic and write as if it is the absolute truth. Because you will find an audience that has a left hemisphere programmed for that “ism” you are writing about in your version of the truth.

This is why Meta is successful in making people more aggressive and polarised. You will be part of that malevolent culture using what we call “Dark Patterns”.

But at least you will have people reading your articles.

The right hemisphere is a critical thinker

This part of the brain is the critical thinker and it creates the map that the left part of your brain blindly follows.

It reads between the lines when someone speaks and it is the home of the reader's IQ and true empathy. Affective(true) empathy is the mirror neurons that force you to have the emotion of the one you are observing. It makes you a social human being.

It is not calculating in nature even if you might think it is because the manipulation is a product of the left side of the brain.

How to write to connect to the right hemisphere

This is more and more hard to do since we know that fewer and fewer people do not have this part of the brain turned on.

I wish I was wrong but it does not look that way. We even see it in MRIs as well clearly see a decrease in connections between the two hemispheres in humans in 2024. It is as if they are starting to not talk to each other.

Even if your audience is smaller than if you write dogmatic articles about feminism you can still reach the ones that are enticed by thinking critically.

The way to do that is the opposite of dogmatism. Write about both sides of the argument and let the reader decide what is true or not. It might very well be harder to write this way because you will be writing against your left hemisphere which has already made up its mind about what you should write about.

But in the grand scheme of things. You will be doing humanity in 2024 a great service since you will turn yourself into a right-hemisphere critical thinker.

In turn, your right hemisphere will be used more. You will develop it to become a more accurate critical thinker.

What this earth needs right now.

Bon Voyage

I know how hard it is not to write articles for the left hemisphere.

It is so easy money to make on left-brained individuals just as easy as stealing candy from children. Yes, I know that it is driven by greed known as psychopathy in psychology. You can test yourself here to see what you are best suited to write about.

But I hope you can fight it and add Right hemisphere text to your articles to force the reader into Right empathic thinking.

You will do more for humanity than a brain surgeon by doing so.

That is true value in society.
